SLIPPERY ROCK — New week, new weapon.

The Grove City High football team has plenty of dangerous players and has showcased just about every one of them in the first five games of the season.

It was Tyler Greer’s turn Friday in a blowout win over Oil City. Greer, a junior running back and linebacker, rushed for 141 yards on just three carries in a 47-12 win over the Oilers.

The Eagles’ goal Friday is to keep all those weapons firing against rival Slippery Rock when the two teams clash at 7 p.m.

Grove City (5-0) has stuffed the run, holding teams to just 41 yards per game on the ground. Most of that came against Oil City.

The Rockets (2-3) held a potent Sharon offense to a mere 122 yards last week in a loss.

The main motivation this week in a rivalry game for the Rockets is to play better than they did against Grove City a year ago.

The Eagles won last year 47-6.
