Edward A. Benko

Edward A. Benko, 86, of Butler passed away Friday, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born June 30, 1931, in Butler, he was a son of the late Andrew J. and Wilma (Lawrence) Benko.

He retired from Armco Steel as a steelworker. He was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. Edward was also a member of the American Legion Post 117, in Lyndora.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Emily J. (White) Benko, whom he married May 2, 1953; two sons, John (Karen) Benko, of Butler, and Richard (Mary) Benko, of Connoquenessing; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

BENKO — There will be no public visitation for Edward A. Benko, who died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
