Mona Neil Rouzer Forsaith
Mona Neil Rouzer Forsaith of Mars died peacefully at home Wednesday.
She was born Aug. 27, 1916, to Olive and Walter Rouzer. Her older sisters, Mary Thompson and Shirley Neely, predeceased her.
She is survived by her only daughter, Paula, and her husband, Carl, of New York.
“Plain Gramma” was her name to her special grandsons, Ken and his wife, Mary, of Maryland, and Mike and his wife, Jodi, of California. She was “Gigi” to four wonderful grandchildren, Camille and Hank, of Maryland, and Olivia and Sydney, of California.
Mona graduated from Slippery Rock Normal School and went on to be a teacher for 10 years. She eloped and married Paul Forsaith, a funeral director, and together they had 52 great years.
Playing the piano and organ were Mona’s gift, and she used those talents throughout her life.
Mona continued her educational career as a penmanship teacher trainer for Peterson handwriting throughout Pennsylvania.
The credit for her longevity she gave to what she called the “five C’s: Compliments, Chocolate, Cosmetics, Cranberry and Christ!”
