Man sentenced in house shooting incident

Erik K. Dubois

A Slippery Rock man was sentenced to probation in Butler County Court on Thursday, after being charged with firing a gun at an occupied home.

Erik K. Dubois, 30, was sentenced to 12 months probation and ordered to pay $816.39 by county Judge William Shaffer.

State police said Dubois was involved in an argument with another person outside that man's home on Blair Road, before he returned in his pickup truck and fired three pistol shots, which hit the side of the house, according to previous reports.

The homeowner and another person were inside the house at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Simon said the plea agreement was reached because “all the allegations did not match evidence.”

“There were no bullet holes found in the home, and we don't believe any gun was fired at the house,” he said.

A full report will appear in the Butler Eagle.
