Robert George Frank

Robert George Frank, 79, of Sarver passed away Thursday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Born May 24, 1938, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Leo Frank and Emma Bonomo Frank.

Bob graduated with a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for over 45 years as a mechanical engineer for PPG, where he was named in over 80 patents in his career.

He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Fiero Club and also took a mission trip to West Virginia.

Bob was always busy and productive, inside and outside of work. With the help of his family, he transformed his dream home in Sarver, to be a place of peace and beauty that he and his family enjoyed for years. Bob was known to say he could fix anything but a broken heart on a rainy day, which he proved true many times over. He enjoyed working on his many cars, racing cars, and boating and fishing.

Surviving are his loving wife, Cheryl Jean (McLaughlin) Frank, who he married March 24, 1979; a son, Robert George (Rebecca) Frank Jr. of Erie; daughters, Lisa Lynn (Matthew) Callender of Midland, Mich., and Jennifer Lynn (D.J.) Bertolasio of Carnegie; a sister, Elizabeth (Frank) Turchirollo of Normal, Ill.; six grandchildren, Caden, Maddie and Cameron Callender, Emma and Tyler Frank and Penny Bertolasio, and one on the way, Oliver Bertolasio; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Neil Sadler Frank.

FRANK — A memorial service for Robert George Frank, who died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Porter officiating.Interment will follow at Westminster Presbyterian Church cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, P.O.
