Teresa M. Knechtel Stevick
Teresa M. Knechtel Stevick, 92, of Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsburgh on June 1, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Magdalena Walters Holzer.
She was formerly employed as a secretary for the Seraphic Mass Association.
She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She volunteered at the VA Butler Healthcare Medical Center and Butler Meals on Wheels, and she was past president of BARA.
She is survived by seven children, David Knechtel and his wife, Kathy, of Gibsonia, Paul Knechtel and his wife, Mary Ann, of Butler, Stephen Knechtel and his wife, Mary Kay, of San Antonio, Texas, Vince Knechtel and his wife, Daria, of Valencia, Thomas Knechtel, of Saxonburg, Anne Workman and her husband, Sollie, of Hillsboro, W.Va., and Karl Knechtel and his wife, Vicki, of Butler; 19 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Teresa was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles F. Knechtel; her second husband, Willis Stevick; one granddaughter, Jennifer Loper; and four sisters.
