There’s a few things you can count on in life.

Death.

Taxes.

And the Cleveland Browns losing.

The Browns are just no fun when it comes to predicting the NFL season. No matter what happens in the most unpredictable league in pro sports, there’s always one constant.

The Browns being bad.

Someday that will change — no team can stink forever. The law of averages dictate that whoever is in the Cleveland front office for that particular five minutes during the NFL draft will get lucky and hit on a few studs and change the fortune of the franchise.

Hasn’t happened yet, but as the old saying goes, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

The Browns notwithstanding, the rest of the NFL is a fickle mess from year to year.

I’m going to try to predict the unpredictable (minus the Browns finishing in last place in the AFC North, that is).

So, here are my somewhat-bold predictions for the 2017 NFL season.

The 0-for-Allen sweepstakes — Yes, yes, we know, the Browns are putrid. But they won’t finish with the worst record in the league.

That will be a race between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills.

It seems both teams are deliberately trying to build the most pathetic roster in the league in the hopes of going 0-16 to land one of the many talented quarterbacks in the 2018 draft.

Josh Allen of Wyoming may be the best of them.

The Jets and Bills play twice this season, including Sunday. Bold prediction: they’ll tie in both meetings and both teams will go 0-14-2.

Steelers win the AFC North — Pittsburgh will go 12-4 and win the division easily. Big Ben, Bell and Brown will stay healthy (and Bryant will stay off the wacky weed) and the Steelers will lead the league in offense.

Titans will break into the rolls of the elite — Marcus Mariota is the real deal and there are ample weapons around the Tennessee quarterback, who had a great season cut short by a broken leg in 2016.

Atlanta won’t recover from the Super Bowl collapse — Losing Super Bowl teams always have trouble in the following season. Losing Super Bowl teams that blow 28-3 leads have an even rougher time.

The Falcons are in for a mighty tumble.

The Raiiidddeeerrrs — Will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

And they will beat the Steelers to get there.

Pittsburgh and Oakland haven’t met in the playoffs since 1983 and haven’t squared off in a championship game since 1976. That changes this season.

Oakland wins the Super Bowl — After beating Pittsburgh, the Raiders topple the Packers for the title. Raiders finally get revenge on Bart Starr.
