BUTLER TWP — Butler High School is suddenly looking for three head coaches for its spring sports teams.

Golden Tornado baseball coach Todd Erdos, boys lacrosse coach Michael Corteau and girls lacrosse coach Ashley Argyros all resigned from their respective positions recently.

“We've got some work to do to get all of our teams in order for next spring, that's for sure,” Butler athletic director Bill Mylan said.

Erdos was 51-45 in five years as Tornado varsity baseball coach, but 49-29 with three WPIAL playoff appearances over the past four seasons. He is resigning due to a work conflict.

Corteau was Butler's boys lacrosse coach for the past two seasons. He led the team to seven wins in his first season, nearly doubling the win output from the previous season.

Work commitments are preventing him from returning as well.

Argyros guided the Tornado girls lacrosse team for two seasons. Butler won only three games this past spring in its initial season at the WPIAL Division I level.

The Tornado were 11-5 and reached the Div. II quarterfinals in Argyros' first season. She accepted a teaching position in Houston, Texas, and has already relocated there.
