Seneca Valley grad keeps Navy copters in the air

Kevin Lenox, a petty officer 1st class in the Navy

Kevin Lenox, a 2005 Seneca Valley Senior High School graduate, is serving with a U.S. Navy helicopter squadron keeping the Navy's newest helicopters flying.

Lenox, a petty officer 1st class, is an aviation electronics technician with the “Vipers” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 48 in Mayport, Fla. The squadron operates the MH-60R Seahawk, a submarine hunter and anti-surface warfare helicopter.

It is his duty to work on navigation, communications, mission and weapon systems along with maintaining overall electrical systems aboard the aircraft.

Lenox has received two Navy Achievement Medals and a NATO medal, one of which was received for work done off the coast of Syria.
