Frank J. Patterson

Frank J. Patterson, 56, of Slippery Rock passed away Sunday morning at his residence.

Frank was born Oct. 24, 1960, in New Castle. He was the son of George S. and Margaret A. McCormick Patterson. Frank was of the Presbyterian faith and a graduate of Laurel High School, Class of 1978.

Frank was employed with Patterson Well Drilling in Lawrence County for 38 years. Mr. Patterson was a member of the O.F.E.S. (Oil Field Engine Society), Portersville Showgrounds Steam Engines, Coolspring Power Museum and the Ashtabula Antique Engine Club. Frank enjoyed rebuilding, restoring and showing oil field engines as a hobby.

In addition to his father, George, and stepmother, Charlotte, mother, Margaret, and stepfather, Doug Osborne, he is survived by his daughter, Hannah J. Patterson of New Castle; his stepson, Seth Stewart of Slippery Rock; his sister, Diane Patterson of New Castle; his stepbrothers, Joe Cunningham of Erie and Ponch Martin of New Castle; and his stepsister, Sherry Jageman of Erie.

Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank M. and Marion Patterson; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Genevieve McCormick.

PATTERSON — Following the wishes of Frank J. Patterson, who died Sunday, July 16, 2017, there will be no calling hours.A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. The Rev. Jason Schepp of Eastbrook Presbyterian Church will officiate.In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 960 Penn Ave. #1000, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.Online obituary may be viewed by visiting nogafuneralhome.com.
