PITTSBURGH — A Butler man accused of stealing more than $40,000 from West View Savings Bank while serving as an executive at the company pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement on Monday.

Keith A. Simpson, 59, entered the guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon, admitting that he embezzled approximately $41,806.90 from West View Savings Bank over a two-year period, from 2014 to 2016, while serving as the bank's chief accounting officer.

Simpson was charged in February, according to online court documents, after an investigation by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

He will be sentenced on Dec. 6, according to online court documents. Prosecutors say he faces a maximum of 30 years in prison, a fine of $1 million, or both.
