Majorie Weir Rochon
Majorie Weir Rochon, 71, of Butler passed away Saturday at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a two-year courageous battle with cancer.
She was born and raised in Scotland. Born March 30, 1946, in Grennock Renfrewshire, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Isabella O’Brien Weir.
She was Catholic.
In the earlier years, she was a seamstress in Scotland and then moved to Butler, where she worked at the former Bobbie Brooks.
Her hobbies were fishing, casinos and traveling, especially her yearly trips back to her native land of Scotland to visit with family and friends.
In July of 2015, she retired after 30 years of waitressing at Mama Rosa’s Restaurant, Butler, where she enjoyed working and making friendships.
She is survived by her companion of more than 25 years, Richard Kuhns; her daughter, Diane (Greg Spirk) Gray of Portersville; her grandson, Rick Gray of Slippery Rock; her granddaughter, Samantha Gray of Butler; her great-grandson, Colton Sanderson; her siblings, James (Catherine) Weir of Australia and Margaret Hughes of Scotland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
ROCHON — Family and friends of Majorie Weir Rochon, who died Saturday, July 1, 2017, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.
The blessing service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Joseph Feltz of the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church officiating.
Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.
