Mary Margaret Shumaker Sanguigni

Mary Margaret Shumaker Sanguigni, of Cranberry Township died on Friday after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Alexander D. “Skip” Sanguigni Sr.

Mary was born on Nov. 30, 1943, and was preceded in death by her dear mother, Irene C. Shumaker.

She was the sister of George H. Shumaker of Fullerton, Calif.; loving mother of Dawn Getty and Debi (Chris) Peterman; and stepmom of Alexander “Skip” Jr. Sanguigni, Robert (Kelly) Sanguigni, Kevin (Karen) Sanguigni, Bridget (Jerry) Clarke and Matthew Sanguigni. She was the proud grandmother of Alexis, Elizabeth (Belle) and Lauren Peterman; Kaitlyn Sanguigni; Amanda and Elana Sanguigni; Kevin, Ryan and Maura Sanguigni; Margaret, Caroline and Nolan Clarke; Caley, Macy and Riley Sanguigni; and the late Michael Sanguigni. She was the great-grandmother of Gabriella and Liam.

Mary graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1961. Her entire career was spent in the moving industry.

Mary was an avid reader and sewer, and she was an active member of many clubs and organizations in her community.

SANGUIGNI — Family and friends of Mary Margaret Shumaker Sanguigni, who died on Friday, June 16, 2017, will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday from and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday from DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday at the St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Margaret Shontz Public Library, 145 N. 2nd St., Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.
