William Franklin Sutton

William Franklin Sutton, 72, of Slippery Rock passed away Sunday at his residence.

He was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Butler to Mary Ella Claypool Sutton and the late Alfred William Sutton.

Mr. Sutton attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. William worked as a laborer for Goodyear Tire for several years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler and was very involved with the Special Olympics. He enjoyed bowling, MOPARs, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ella Claypool Sutton; Jessie Marie Sutton of Slippery Rock; one son, Todd Joseph Gray, and his fiancé, Nicole Adams, of Butler; two daughters, Mary Jo Sutton Neal and her husband, John, of Harrisville, and Bonnie Jo Sutton Plyler of Butler; 11 grandchildren, Sarahlea A. Humes, William T. Scott, Colten W. Plyler, Dylan W. Neal, Talon J. Plyler, Cannon R. Plyler, Camren B. Neal, Alyssa H. Plyler, JoElla M. Neal, Sophia Gray, and Ashton Gray; six great-grandchildren, Devon Humes, Blaze Humes, Elijah Scott, Ava Humes, Zoey Scott and Mason Plyler; two brothers, Harry E. (Kathy) Sutton of Clintonville and Norman C. (Sheila) Sutton Sr. of Eau Claire; two sisters, Brenda Sutton of Texas and Sandra G. (Paul) of Slippery Rock; five nieces; and three nephews.

In addition to his father, Alfred William Sutton, he was preceded in death by his three nephews, Alfred William Sutton, Heath Eric Sutton and Clinton E. Broad.

SUTTON — Friends of William Franklin Sutton, who died Sunday, June 11, 2017, will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Thompson — Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating.Private burial will take place in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. to help defray funeral costs.Online condolences may be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
