Cops: Driver's seizure caused restaurant crash injuring 4
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police believe a driver had a seizure before crashing his car into a downtown restaurant and injuring himself, three passengers and one pedestrian.
Police had previously said two pedestrians were struck outside The Capital Grille Wednesday about 9:20 p.m. But police clarified that today, saying one woman believed to be a pedestrian had been in the car but was removed by witnesses before emergency crews arrived.
Police haven’t released the names of any of those involved.
Police say the 36-year-old male driver along and three passengers were taken to UPMC Mercy hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian is a 47-year-old from California, and was taken to the same hospital.
