Albert C. Pettigrew, 85, of Uniontown, formerly of Chicora, died Saturday in Laurel Ridge Nursing Home in Uniontown.

He was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, the son of the late Robert Pettigrew and Hattie Zahniser Pettigrew.

He worked for C&K Coal Co. in Clarion County until the plant closed in the 1970s.

He was married to Helen D. Pettigrew, who died Dec. 14, 1998.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbie L. Myers and Sharon K. Myers; his sons, Matthew Pettigrew, Randy Pettigrew, Clinton Pettigrew and Carl Pettigrew; and his sister, Delphine (Leslie, deceased) Delaney of Sugar Creek; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
