Harry R. Bielewicz Sr.

Harry R. Bielewicz Sr., 86, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, passed away Sunday at Heritage Valley Sewickley.

Born June 23, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Frank and Helen Czak Bielewicz.

A veteran, Mr. Bielewicz served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was employed as a machinist with United Airlines, retiring after 41 years of service.

He was a member of Saint Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Moon Township. He also was a friend of the Felician Sisters.

Mr. Bielewicz belonged to Polish Falcons 8 and Local 1044 IAMAW. He was an avid lover of animals.

He is survived by his loving children, Marybeth Goldbach and her husband, George, of Sewickley, Frank Bielewicz and his wife, Beth, of Milwaukee, Wis., Father Harry R. Bielewicz Jr., the pastor of the three Butler City Roman Catholic parishes — Saint Peter, Saint Michael the Archangel and Saint Paul, Marycamille Strano, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mary Dee Rink and her partner, Paul Macasek, of Sewickley.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Aislinn Goldbach, Rachel Bielewicz, Lucas Goldbach, Bryce Goldbach, Christopher Strano, Frankie Bielewicz and Alex Strano.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Viger Bielewicz; one sister, Helen Pudup; one brother, Stanley Bielewicz; one son-in-law, Michael Strano; and two grandchildren, Erin and Ashley Goldbach.

BIELEWICZ — Friends of Harry R. Bielewicz Sr., who died Sunday, May 28, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Copeland Moon Township Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township, Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1 Parish Place, Moon Township, with his son, Father Harry R. Bielewicz Jr., officiating.Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Moon Township.The family requests memorial donations be made to the Felician Sisters, 1500 Woodcrest Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108, or to the Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
