Virginia “Ginny” Mae Callaghan

Virginia “Ginny” Mae Callaghan, 91, of Butler passed away Monday at her daughter's residence.

Ginny was born April 19, 1926, in Montague City, Mass.

She was the daughter of the late George Ellsworth Hastings and the late Lillian Killeen Hastings.

She was a retired bookkeeper for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Ginny was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the North Trails Public Library and an accomplished gardener and quilter. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish.

Ginny is survived by three daughters, Kathleen M. Hartwell of Dunedin, Fla., Virginia A. Callaghan of Pembroke, N.H., and Frances E. (C. Allen) Randall of Butler; two sons, Richard E. (Sabine) Griffin of Miami, Fla., and John T. Callaghan of Boston, Mass.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy K. Pachalis, of Dunedin, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Ginny was preceded in death by two husbands and three brothers, George E. Hastings, James W. Hastings and William L. Hastings.

CALLAGHAN — A memorial service for Virginia “Ginny” Mae Callaghan who died Monday, May 22, 2017, will be held at 10 a.m. June 2 at the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. William Jameson officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001, or the West Sunbury Senior Center, West Sunbury Presbyterian Church, P.O.
