Albert Emile Gall

Albert Emile Gall, 94, of Butler passed away peacefully Monday at the VA Butler Healthcare Community Living Center.

He was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Butler, the second child of Charlotte and Henry Gall.

He proudly served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He met the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie” Sachmann, in 1945 in Paris, France. Jackie eventually came to the United States, and they married Jan. 25, 1947, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where they remained lifelong members.

Albert worked as a journeyman electrician for over 40 years, the last 30 years employed at Fuellgraf Electric Co. in Butler County.

Albert epitomized the values of the “Greatest Generation.” His humble nature, strong work ethic, faithful commitment to family, and patriotism for his country characterized his life. He loved his wife of 70 years with such devotion that, even though she preceded him in death, he asked about her until the day he died four months later. He will be greatly missed by his family. His daughter Michele and son Dan were both devoted to their father and mother and loved them with a great love.

Albert is survived by his son Daniel and his wife, Stefanie, of Panama City, Fla.; his daughter Michele Erdos and her husband, Darrell, of Butler; his grandchildren: Susan Harrison and her husband, Shawn, of Tampa, Fla., Chad Gall and his wife, Margot, and Lauren Posey Gall and her husband, Ryan, of Panama City, Fla., Brian Erdos and his wife, Kelly, of Butler, Matthew Erdos and his wife, Crystal, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Chris Erdos, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and his great-grandchildren: SarahCate, Ethan, Crayton, Logan, Dawson, Chase, Layne, Francesca, Bryce, McKenzie, Avaleigh, Preston and Ayla.

He is also survived by his brother Mickey Gall and his wife, Jenny, of Butler; his sister-in-law Judy Gall, of Butler; and his brother-in-law Andre Aeberhard, of Winterthur, Switzerland.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jackie, who died Jan. 27, 2017; his brother Donald Gall; and his sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and Paul Herritt.

GALL — Friends of Albert Emile Gall, who died Monday, May 15, 2017, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A blessing service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by entombment in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.Military honors will be accorded at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 117, VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Rec Services CLC or VA Hospice, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001.
