Karin Grah Konitzky
Karin Grah Konitzky, 71, of Emlenton passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at her home.
Karin was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Solingen, Germany, to Paul and Hilda Grah. She moved to the U.S. with her late husband Dr. Gustav A. Konitzky III after their marriage March 19, 1971. They settled in Emlenton where she lived until her death.
Karin's love for fashion and art began while still in high school. She worked as an apprentice for top clothing retailers in Germany. With the support of her husband, she was able to fulfill her dream, owning her own store. She opened up a clothing store in Oil City in which she sold designer fashion from Europe in the early 1980s. After the store's closing her love for fashion and design never faded.
Karin is survived by her daughter, Caroline Ella Johnson; her son, Dr. Paul Christian Konitzky, and his wife, Julia; her grandchildren, Thomas Johnson, Eva Jackson, Paul Konitzky, Matthew Konitzky and Alexander Konitzky.
She is also survived by additional family, Gustav A. Konitzky IV and his wife, Peggy; Sasha Konitzky; Bridgette Konitzky; Gretchen Konitzky; Sigrid Pickering; Kate Pickering; and Sue Pickering.
Karin was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
KONITZKY — A private funeral service for Karin Grah Konitzky, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, officiated by the Rev. Deborah Jacobson, pastor of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Emlenton, will be Saturday at the Hile Funeral Home, Emlenton.
