Joseph P. Oliverio
Joseph P. Oliverio, 90, of Butler passed away at 2:57 p.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Star City, W.Va., to the late Sam Oliverio and Catherina Benencosa Oliverio.
Joseph was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Joseph worked at Hutchinson's Cleaners in Butler. He was an avid sports fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and also enjoyed yard work.
He is survived by two sons, Paul Oliverio and his wife, Tonilee, of Virginia Beach, Va., and David Oliverio and his wife, Debi, of Butler; three grandsons, Jared Oliverio, Justin Oliverio and his wife, Megan, and Anthony Oliverio; two great-grandsons, Cooper Oliverio and Eliot Oliverio; his twin sister, Susan Hardy of Dover, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Jack Wolfe, and his wife, Melba, of Yreka, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Oliverio, who died Aug. 18, 1999; six sisters; and two brothers.
OLIVERIO — Friends of Joseph P. Oliverio, who died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A blessing service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 of Butler will conduct military honors following the service.Burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
