Roger Alan Sherman

Roger Alan Sherman, 75, of Butler passed away Monday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Butler, to the late Robert B. Sherman and the late June L. Bash Sherman.

Roger served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He worked as a crane man for Armco Steel, retiring after 25 years of service. He went on own Roger Sherman General Repair. Roger belonged to Bantam Marine Corp League of Butler, Detachment Corp 743, American Legion Post 778 in Butler and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed flying airplanes, going to dog races and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, who he married Oct. 5, 1990; one daughter, Theresa Sherman of Butler; three stepdaughters, Melissa Palmer of Portersville, Morgan Moran of Virginia and Michael Kisner of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Patrick, Randa and Samantha; two brothers, Robert W. Sherman and his wife, Joan, of Slippery Rock and Gary Sherman and his wife, Peggy, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, John Patrick Sherman.

SHERMAN — A celebration of life for Roger Alan Sherman, who died Monday, May 8, 2017, will be announced later.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Bantam Marine Detachment #743, 413 S.
