Ferguson HR sparks BlueSox
Patrick Ferguson hit a double and home run and collected four RBI to spark the Butler BlueSox to a 9-4 Prospect League road win over Danville (Ill.) Friday night.
The Sox tallied four runs in the top of the first inning and four more in the third to take an 8-1 lead.
James Meeker added a 3-for-4 night at the plate with two runs scored and Calvin Scott singled twice, scored twice and drove in one.
Bryce Spak earned the win, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits in five innings. He struck out seven and walked three.
Jack Herzing (three innings) and Pavin Parks (one) combined to work four scoreless innings of relief.
Butler (5-5) plays at Danville Saturday and at Lafayette (Ind.) on Sunday.
