Charles J. Seipe Jr.
Charles J. Seipe Jr., 84, of Butler, formerly of Mars and Valencia, died unexpectedly Monday of natural causes while turkey hunting. He died in the E.R. at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He and his wife spent many winters in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
Born Aug. 29, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Catherine Gibbons Seipe.
Chuck was a self-employed painting contractor and owner of Seipe Painting.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a life member of the Mars VFW Post 7505.
He currently attended the First United Methodist Church of Butler and had been a member of the Mars United Methodist Church.
He was an avid hunter, especially groundhogs, deer, turkeys, bear and elk.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Wheeler Seipe, who he married July 18, 1958; three daughters, Catherine (Mark) Oxendale of Grove City, Nancy (Daniel) Sperry of Powder Springs, Ga., and Carol (Bradley) Young of New Sewickley Township; his grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Noah Oxendale, and Joshua and Jessica Sperry; his great-grandson, Cade Sperry; his sister, Sarah Blystone of Conneaut Lake; his sister-in-law, Carol Wheeler of Mars; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Fester; and his brothers-in-law, Harold “Peaches” Fester, James Blystone and Earl Wheeler.

Seipe Jr., who died Monday, May 8, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
