Errors costly to BlueSox in defeat
Five Butler errors led to four unearned runs as the BlueSox dropped an 11-4 Prospect League decision at Lafayette (Ind.) Thursday night.
Nick Bucci started on the mound for the Sox and allowed 11 runs (seven earned) on 12 hits in seven innings pitched. He struck out five and walked four.
Butler trailed just 3-2 after four innings, but the Aviators plated a combined eight runs over the next three innings.
Patrick Ferguson went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Sox, adding two runs scored and one batted in. Joe Gunn was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Butler (4-5) travels to Danville (Ill.) today.
