Eveline Kent
Eveline Kent, 102, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Eveline was born Oct. 16, 1914, in New Cross, Kent, in England, the daughter of the late Emma and William Freeman. She emigrated from England in December 1980.
Eveline’s favorite pastimes were knitting, sewing, bird watching and working in her greenhouse when she was still able.
Eveline is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Ken) Snyder of Butler; four grandchildren, Patricia (Darryl) Cole, Vernon (Nahtanha) Brown, Christopher (Amber) Snyder and Matthew (Crystal) Snyder; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Cole, Rebekah Brown, Rachael Brown, Anissa Snyder, Avery Snyder, Ella Snyder, Trinity Snyder, Sage Snyder and Vesta Snyder; one sister, Beryl Hazelton, who resides in England; and several nieces and nephews.
Eveline was preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Owen Vernon Kent, who was killed in World War II flying with the Royal Air Force over Germany and is buried at a British war cemetery in Hanover, Germany; and one brother, Eric Freeman.
KENT — A private memorial service for Eveline Kent, who died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, will be held at the family’s convenience.
Arrangements are being handled by WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA, 16023, or the American Cancer Society.
