VALENCIA — A borough man was charged with simple assault after allegedly hitting his wife and fleeing into a wooded area.

Steven Henry Strutz, 29, also was charged Saturday with harassment and disorderly conduct.

According to the affidavit. Adams Township Police on Friday responded to a domestic disturbance call at Apt. A, 151 Downieville Road.

The affidavit states that after police arrived at the residence at 6:37 p.m., they found Jessica Strutz with a bruised right eye and blood on her face and clothing.

Strutz told police her husband attacked her and fled once she called 911.

Upon being asked, several residents reporting seeing a tall, skinny man with tattoos and a backpack cross through their yards off Ninth Street, which led to railroad tracks.

Police spotted Strutz, who then entered the wooded area near a bus garage.

After officers formed a perimeter around the area, Strutz was apprehended.

He was arraigned before District Judge Sue Haggerty.

Strutz was placed in Butler County Prison, but was released Saturday after posting $2,000 bond.
