Butler Township man jailed on aggravated assault charges
A Butler Township man was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly threatening his girlfriend's brother.
Andrew Jameel Hoy, 23, also was charged with recklessly endangering another person.
The affidavit states Jacob Byers on May 5 told Butler Police that he was in an argument with Hoy while at his sister's residence at 224 N. Main St.
According to the affidavit, Hoy brandished a large knife and moved toward Jacob.
The affidavit states Jacob Byers told police he was chased by Hoy throughout the building and onto North Main Street.
Byers told police that Hoy started another argument while Byers waited for a ride.
According to the affidavit, Byers was unsure if Hoy had the knife during the second argument on the street.
Hoy was arraigned Sunday before on-call District Judge Sue Haggerty and jailed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Hoy previously was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault after allegedly punching and choking Stacy Byers May 17.
He also is accused of threatening her with a knife that day.
