JACKSON TWP — Three students will join their predecessors with artwork on the walls of Seneca Valley Middle School as part of the school’s permanent art display.

Artwork of Erin Keppler, a seventh grader, and Jessica Brezina and Madison McKenzie, both eighth graders, joins 63 other pieces gathered since the display began 12 years ago.

The artwork was revealed during a reception May 23 at the school. Three art teachers at the middle school select at least one piece of art from their students each year.

“The only real thing we look for is something that stands out,” said George Williams, art teacher.

What stands out tends to be different each year, Williams said, as new artists move up with their class into the school. Many students take something they were assigned and go above and beyond with their creativity and design, he said.
