BlueSox notch 1st win
Rey Gonzalez went 3-for-4 and Brady Gulakowski drove in a pair of runs to lead the Butler BlueSox to their first win of the season, 7-3, at West Virginia.
It was also the first win as the BlueSox manager for Butler High grad Cody Herald.
Nick Bucci got the win on the mound for Butler (1-2), striking out six in six strong innings.
The BlueSox led 2-0 before breaking the game open with four runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Butler also stole three bases.
Mike Stout got the loss for West Virginia (1-2). He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, giving up six earned runs.
Butler will conclude its two-game series with West Virginia tonight.
