Lambing appears in court
A Butler man accused of homicide in the death of a 4-year-old child was in Butler County Court on Tuesday on an unrelated burglary case.
Keith Jordan Lambing, 20, was scheduled before county Judge Timothy McCune for a status conference hearing after being charged with felony burglary, criminal trespass, conspiracy to criminal trespass, misdemeanor terroristic threats and summary harassment in a March 7 incident.
Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz informed the court that no plea deal has been extended in the case. She said it is the intent that several cases against Lambing, including charges of felony escape and homicide, would be consolidated and handled all at the same time.
Lambing's attorney, Kimberly Hudak, told the judge that she will be requesting additional discovery in the burglary case, after initial discovery was supplied on May 5.
Lambing was arrested in that incident alongside Devon B. Thompson, 20, after they allegedly forced their way into a man's apartment on the 200 block of Walker Avenue and threatened him, according to Butler police.
Police said the victim, Jeremiah Brockman, reported that he had an altercation with the two men, who live in the apartment above his. According to court documents, Thompson lives in the second-floor apartment; Lambing has a different address.
Brockman reported the men showed up at his apartment “uninvited and physically removed” him from the apartment “stating that he was no longer welcome there.”
After making the report and returning home, Brockman told police that he heard people trying to force in his back door, and moments later, the door was kicked in by Lambing and Thompson, police said.
The two warned Brockman that if they went to jail, “they could have someone return to finish what they started,” documents said.
Lambing and Thompson were arrested and arraigned, and Lambing was released on $30,000 bail. Thompson was held in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail, but the charges were later withdrawn following a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge William Fullerton, and he was released on March 13.
Lambing is also facing criminal homicide and rape charges in the death of Bentley Thomas Miller after an incident on March 21 in Butler Township, as well as an alleged escape attempt on March 28.
He is currently held in Butler County Prison after bail was denied in the homicide case, and is awaiting formal arraignment on June 6 in the homicide and escape incidents.
