Dispute over keys leads to domestic incident

CRANBERRY TWP — A township man was charged with assault and harassment after an argument over a set of keys escalated into a domestic dispute.

John Sucola, 52, waived all charges to county court Friday, where he will be arraigned July 11.

Police were called to a residence on Bonnie Vue Drive around midnight May 21 for a domestic violence incident. The caller reported her mother had been assaulted by her stepfather.

When officers arrived, Rachel Sucola greeted them and said she had been assaulted by her husband, John Sucola. Rachel Sucola admitted that they’d both been drinking that night, police said.

Rachel Sucola said she wanted to drive her children to a friend’s house, but John had her keys and refused to return them. Rachel grabbed the keys out of his hand and got the children in the car while her husband screamed at them.
