Mary Jane Ruggles

Mary Jane Ruggles, 73, of Butler passed away Wednesday surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Nov. 10, 1943, in Franklin, Pa., to the late Jack Kugler Sr. and the late Mildred Shull Kugler.

Mrs. Ruggles was a member of Community Alliance Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four children, Tracy A. Ruggles and his wife, Kelly, of Butler, Sherrie L. Ruggles Eyth and her husband, Joseph, of Waco, Texas, Jerry “Charlie” Ruggles of Butler and Jessie Ruggles Adams and her husband, Stephen, of McMinnville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters, Linda Hickman of Blaine, Wash., Kathy Peterson and her husband, Dell, of Franklin, Pa., and Sara Mong and her husband, Terry Sr., of Franklin, Pa.; one brother, Jack Kugler and his wife, Jean, of Knox; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy E. Ruggles, who she married Dec. 11, 1961, and who died June 10, 2011; and one brother, Michael Kugler.

RUGGLES — Friends of Mary Jane Ruggles, who died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Krajcic of Community Alliance Church officiating.
