Butler Councilman Kenny Bonus was honored to be awarded the key to the city at council's meeting Thursday.

Butler Councilman Kenny Bonus was awarded the key to the city at council’s meeting Thursday.

The honor comes on the heels of Bonus being named junior Distinguished Service Award recipient in April.

“I think it’s an extreme honor to have been awarded (the Distinguished Service Award) and then also to be awarded the key to the city,” he said.

Bonus is active in the community; in addition to serving on city council, he serves on boards for the Butler County United Way, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, the Butler County Historical Society, the Penn Theater Performance Company, the Butler Art Center and the Butler County Young Professionals.
