Michele Ann Berkoben
Michele Ann Berkoben, 49, of Monroeville, Pa., passed away Sunday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Michele was born Nov. 9, 1967, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of Bonnie (Tom) L. Russo Uptegraph of Saxonburg and Andrew A. Berkoben of Sarver.
Michele worked at Children's Hospital. She was a graduate of Freeport High School in 1985, Slippery Rock University in 1991 and served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. She enjoyed going to casinos, especially Atlantic City, and was an avid Pirates fan. She also enjoyed going to concerts, going out to dinner and watching NASCAR races. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley Renae Sell, and her fiancé, Matt Wiley, of Hampton; her son, Dillon Michael Sell of Butler; two brothers, Mike (Lisa) Berkoben of Buffalo Township and Thomas (Michelle) Berkoben of Buffalo Township; three sisters, Cindy (Les) Tricou of Davenport, Fla., Ronda (Dean) Overly of Harrisville and Terri (Hugo) Araque of Miami, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving companion, John Smith Jr.
She is also survived by her two cats, Little Miss and Poppy.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Maxine Dickson; her paternal grandparents, John and Susan Berkoben; and three uncles.
BERKOBEN — Family and friends of Michele Ann Berkoben, who died Sunday, April 23, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hindman of the Worthington Presbyterian Church officiating.
