John Robert Hodak
John Robert Hodak, 37, of Punxsutawney passed away Saturday.
John was born Nov. 15, 1979, in Butler, the son of John and Jane Frances Schmeider Hodak.
On Sept. 10, 2012, he married the love of his life, Aine Elissa Skarbek, who survives. Together they had one daughter, Savannah Beth Hodak, who also survives and was John’s pride and joy.
John was a truck driver for KMI for the past five years and loved what he did. He was fondly called “Super Trucker” by his friends and family. John was also a people person and made friends with everyone. He was always there to help anyone who needed him, no matter how busy he was. John was dearly loved by his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife; his little girl, Savannah; and his parents-in-law, who loved him as if he were their own child. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and riding four-wheelers.
In addition to his wife, Aine, and his cherished daughter, Savannah, John is survived by his parents, John and Karen Hodak and Jane Frances Schmeider Hodak, all of Butler; his in-laws, Dolores and her husband, Terry Thompson, of Punxsutawney and Kenneth Skarbek and Deborah Doty of Punxsutawney; and his stepbrother, Guyd Baptiste of Butler. John is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
HODAK — Friends and family of John Robert Hodak, who died Saturday, April 22, 2017, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, Pa. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s memory may be made to a trust established for his daughter, Savannah, at Citizens National Bank of Punxsutawney.
