Charles F. VanTine Jr.

Charles F. VanTine Jr., 75, of South Buffalo Township passed away Saturday unexpectedly at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.

Chuck was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Brackenridge, a son of the late Margaret L. Kerr and Charles F. VanTine Sr. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Madey VanTine, who died in 1993.

Chuck was a member of the Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver. He was a painter for Pullman Standard in Butler for 20 years. He also owned and operated Chuck’s Auto Repair in South Buffalo Township for a number of years. Chuck enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, drag racing, fixing cars and listening to gospel music. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Scott) Shaner of North Buffalo Township; four sons, Kevin C. VanTine of Slippery Rock, Bryan S. (Amy) VanTine of Freeport, Rob (Jenny) VanTine of N. Buffalo Township and Bradley J. VanTine of South Buffalo Township. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kristy (Terry) Zimmerman, Kylee (Tyler) Newman, Robbie (Molly) VanTine, Carly VanTine and CoriAnne VanTine; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Sandy) VanTine of Buffalo Township, Larry VanTine of Trenton, N.J., and David (Kathy) VanTine of West Winfield Township; and two sisters, Maxine (Rudy) Cannaco of Cheswick and Deborah (Steve) Horvath of Porter, Ind.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Brezenski; and his brother, Ronald L. VanTine.

VANTINE — Family and friends of Charles F. VanTine Jr., who died Saturday, April 22, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.

The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Bogaczyk officiating.

Burial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McVille Union Cemetery followed by hymn singing and refreshments at 11:15 a.m. at the Evangel Heights Assembly of God, 120 Beale Road, Sarver. All are welcome to attend.
