Slippery Rock High School senior hurdler Brady Dalton won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles Saturday during the District 10 Track and Field Championships. Daltopn is the only Slippery Rock athlete to advance to this weekend's PIAA meet.

GENEVA, Ohio — Not even a nasty stomach bug and a tight hamstring could slow Brady Dalton down.

Two weeks ago, the senior on the Slippery Rock High girls track and field team was battling both and worried the ailments might affect her chance to bring home district gold and advance to the PIAA Track and Field Championships.

“It worried me,” Dalton said. “But I didn't want to stress about it.”

Dalton took a few days off, chalking up her balky hamstring to dehydration.

Once she hit the track again, she said she knew everything was going to be fine.

She proved that Saturday at the District 10 Class AAA Track and Field Championships at SPIRE Institute, winning both the 100-meter and the 300-meter hurdle titles.

Dalton finished the 100 hurdle race with a time of 15.44 seconds. She ran a season-best time of 45.97 in the 300 hurdles.
