PITTSBURGH — State police said a 2-year-old girl has died in a crash on Interstate 279 that happened about 1 a.m. Thursday near the Perrysville Avenue ramp in the northbound lanes. The medical examiner identified the girl as Saryiah Jefferson of West View.

Police said the car with the girl in it stopped and began driving in reverse in the wrong direction before it was hit by another car. Police said the girl was not in a child seat or seat belt.

The 24-year-old man driving that car and another 22 year-old passenger were injured, as was the 21-year-old driver of the second car.
