John “Jack” Moffatt Sr.

John “Jack” Moffatt Sr., 86, of Harmony passed away Monday after an extensive illness.

Jack was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Ellwood City, son of the late Leonard J. and Goldie Bristol Moffatt. He was married to his wife, Verna Bowers Moffatt, for nearly 66 years.

In addition to his wife, Verna, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his three daughters and their spouses, Connie (W. Michael) Tillia of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Bonnie (Tom) McConnell and Vicky (Kevin) Patton, all of Princeton, Pa.; and two sons, John C. (Deborah) Moffatt Jr. of Ellwood City and Tommee Moffatt of Harmony. Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren complete the family circle.

Jack, a retired truck driver for Motor Express Trucking Co., also enjoyed calling for square dances around the area for more than 60 years with his wife and band “Jack and Vern and the Countrymen.” He enjoyed camping and attending music festivals.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Robert and Donald Moffatt.

MOFFATT — A private memorial service for John “Jack” Moffatt Sr., who died Monday, April 17, 2017, will be scheduled later.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
