David B. Campbell
David B. Campbell, 69, died Friday in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born to Clifford and Carrie Campbell on Sept. 13, 1947, in Butler, David attended Slippery Rock College in Slippery Rock.
David served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked in helicopter aviation electronics, then moved into data processing and programming. He worked many years as data processing manager at Thigpen Distributing, in Tifton, Ga., then became director of warehousing and customer service for Poulan Weed Eater and Frigidaire. Later in life, he became a software consultant for Perot and Dell.
He loved anything that had to do with Florida State and was an avid fan and booster. He would drive across the country to see the Seminoles play. David was a Ford man and never owned anything else. His Excursion was his jewel. David loved his rescue cat, Zeva, who stayed close when he was ill.
David was always there to care for and support his wife, children, parents, siblings and other family. He was the person that everyone turned to for help.
David is survived by his wife, Sandy; his daughters, Wendy and Brandi; his grandsons, Brandon and Andrew; his siblings, Sandy and Pam; his nephew, Mike; and his aunt, Phyllis.
