SEVEN FIELDS — One vote spelled the difference between a win and a loss in the tightly contested Seven Fields council primary race.

Incumbent Kevin Caridad and newcomers Brian Trimble and Kimberly Regan came out on top, taking the three open Republican nominations, according to unofficial results available Tuesday night. There were no candidates in the Democratic primary.

Trimble took the most votes with 85, followed by Caridad with 75 votes and Regan with 62.

Regan's tally was just one vote more than the 61 received by Jason Wehrle.

There also were five write-in votes.

Trimble, 53, a structural engineer, said he spent time outside the polls in Seven Fields meeting residents Tuesday and is happy to have their support. Trimble also has served on the planning commission in the borough for the past four years.

“We have a lot of nice people living in Seven Fields, so it's nice to represent them,” he said.

This win means a third term for Caridad, 41, a psychotherapist. He's been on the council since 2010 and said he hoped to continue keeping government small and limiting the impact on citizens.

“I'm happy the voters gave me another chance to serve the public,” Caridad said.

Regan, 57, a personal trainer and nutritionist, said she is glad people came out to support her as she did not spend much time campaigning. She wants to continue promoting the borough's amenities and bringing money into the community.

“I'm just grateful they came out and supported me,” she said.
