MIDDLESEX TWP — Incumbent supervisor Robert Brash handily beat fellow Republican Matthew Duff for a spot on the November ballot.

There were no Democrats on the primary ballot.

Brash won the south precinct with 106 votes to Duff's 83 votes, according to unofficial results on Tuesday night.

In the north precinct, Brash took 130 votes to Duff's 85 votes.

Brash was appointed by the supervisors a year ago to fill the seat vacated by former supervisor James “Hap” Evans.

Brash owns a construction business in Allison Park, Allegheny County.

He counts among his priorities supporting the police department, monitoring development in the township and avoiding tax increases.

Duff is a young husband and father who is a former federal agent and current fraud program manager for UPMC.

Brash could not be reached for comment on Tuesday night.
