Janet L. Rickenbrode Miller, 85, of Chicora passed away Thursday at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Chicora, to the late Clarence Rickenbrode and the late June Hayes Rickenbrode.

Mrs. Miller was a former member of McKee Chapel United Methodist Church. She was an avid history buff. Janet loved to travel and go camping. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Miller, who she married May 15, 1950, and who died Nov. 20, 1992; three brothers, Woodrow Rickenbrode, William Rickenbrode and Clarence D. Rickenbrode; and four sisters, Olive Williams, Dorothy Wotus, Margaret Ellen Rihel and Jane Braho.
