Kleon Mimis

Kleon Mimis, 77, of Lyndora passed away Wednesday at his home.

Born June 24, 1939, in New York, N.Y., he was a son of the late William and Thelma Hill Mimis.

He worked for the Department of Environmental Resources, from where he retired in 2002.

He enjoyed collecting stamps and old post cards, reading history books, especially on the World Wars. He was also a fan of classic cars.

Surviving is his brother, Richard (Theodora) Mimis of Indiana, Pa.; his stepson, Michael Darnell of Pittsburgh; his stepdaughter, Jennifer (Chad Anderson) Reed of Butler; two grandchildren, Karah and Chace Anderson; eight nieces and nephews, Laura, Lisa, Richard Jr., Nick, Rachel, Bill, Julie and Constance, who is his goddaughter; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Rose Marie Montelone.

MIMIS — Friends of Kleon Mimis, who died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. There will be no service.
