James “Howie” R. Snyder

James “Howie” R. Snyder, 51, of Butler passed away Monday at his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1966 in Butler, to Norma Hariff Snyder of Butler and the late Robert W. Snyder.

Jim was a graduate of Butler Area High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a longtime employee of Foster Pools, was later self-employed in home remodeling and most recently worked in facility maintenance for Louie's Laundromat.

Jim was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and NASCAR races.

In addition to his mother, Norma Snyder, he is survived by one sister, Pamela Snyder of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Thomas Snyder and his wife, Gail, of Weddington, N.C.; one niece, Magdalyn Snyder of Weddington, N.C.; and one nephew, Tucker Snyder of Weddington, N.C.

SNYDER — Friends of James “Howie” R. Snyder, 51, of Butler passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W.
