Timothy Robert Benson
Timothy Robert Benson, 51, of 24101 Empire Ave., Tomah, Wis., died Dec. 8 at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Francis R. Benson and Helen Yager Benson. As a young child his family moved to Butler, where he lived until 1984.
Mr. Benson was a 1983 graduate of Moniteau High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1984 where he became a food inspection non-commissioned officer.
Tim, a retired sergeant, served in Tennessee, Germany, Arizona and finally retiring in May 2004 at Fort McCoy, Wis.
Tim was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were his passions which he loved to share. In recent years, he took both his children on their first hunting trips. He doted on his grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. Those who knew him would say he had a heart of gold and was a true friend who will be missed dearly.
Tim is survived by his children, Brion Benson of Woodbridge, Va., and Valerie Benson of Harrisburg; two grandchildren Daniel and Quinn Benson, of Woodbridge, Va.; two sisters Theresa Marie Benson of LaMarque, Texas, and Kathleen Koch of Centreville, Va.
BENSON — Timothy Robert Benson will be interred at 12:30 p.m. April 28 at the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
