A Lyndora man, charged with resisting arrest in a police chase incident in December, was sentenced to time served in Butler County Court on Thursday.

Randy L. Halstead Sr., 48, was sentenced Thursday to 60 days in the Butler County Prison, with credit for time served and was paroled immediately, after pleading guilty to summary driving with a suspended license-DUI related in March.

He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine.

Halstead was initially charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest, summary driving on the suspended license and driving with a faulty exhaust system on Dec. 18.

Butler police said Halstead tried to run from officers following a traffic stop at West Wayne and South Jackson streets after he was pulled over for having a loud muffler.

Officers caught Halstead on foot at the Marathon store parking lot on South Main Street. Halstead told police he ran because he had a warrant out for him, according to court documents.
