Jane Ethyl Clouse Allen

Jane Ethyl Clouse Allen, 76, formerly of Poquoson, Va., passed away Friday at her home in Butler.

She was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Walter William Clouse and the late Mary Ethyl Stewart Clouse.

Jane graduated from Moniteau High School and then went on to airline school. She then went to work for C&P Telephone Co. and retired in 1992 after it became Bell Atlantic Telephone Co.

Jane enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Peninsula Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Hampton, Va., and Tri-County Quilters Guild, Butler. She also was a member of the Sallie Lassies Red Hat Society in Butler. She also actively volunteered, providing transport for patients receiving cancer treatment.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Lynn Allen-Insley, and her husband, James, of Gloucester, Va.; two stepgrandchildren, James Eric Insley Jr. and Shelby Elizabeth Insley; her nephews, Bill and Richard Clouse, and Mike Hiwiller; her nieces, Jana Clouse, Lisa Clouse Carper and Patty Clouse Sargood; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Lynn Clouse and Mary Ann Clouse Hiwiller; her brother, William Walter Clouse; and her nephew, Jim Clouse.
