CRANBERRY TWP, Venango County — Funeral services will be held next week for an elderly Emlenton man killed Monday in a rollover wreck in the township.

Harold G. Burke, 85, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Cranberry Rockland Road, authorities said. His 81-year-old wife, Joanne, a passenger, was also injured, authorities said.

State police said Burke about 1 p.m. lost control of his northbound 2006 Chrysler Town & Country and struck a utility pole. The car rolled onto its roof after sheering off the pole.

Joanne Burke was transported to UPMC Northwest hospital in Seneca with moderate injuries. Her condition was not known this morning.

Police continue to investigate the accident. They did not immediately know what caused Burke to lose control of the car.

His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Unity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Valley.
